1st Day of Kindergarten!

Crosby has been anxiously awaiting this day for so long. He got up right away this morning, made his bed and put his clothes on before he even came out of his room at 6:30. I'm sure this is how it's always going to be, right?! Well, I can hope. Anyway, he later went right into his classroom, put his things away and sat down at a table ready to go. He nonchalantly told us bye and that was that. Kelby and I were walking out to the car congratulating one another on not weeping when Gracyn starts asking "Where's Pozby? Where's Pozby? Where he go?" I, no we, almost lost it there but managed to hold it together.

Not sure if he's trying to dance or what??!

Crosby was all smiles when I picked him up today. I'm so thankful that he had a great first day. Tonight he says that he can't wait to go back. I can only hope that it stays this way.

Gracyn is determined that she can operate the dune racer just as well as any one else.
And yes, we unplug it when not in use by an authorized person. :-)

We're going back to D-I-S-N-E-Y!

We wanted to tell Crosby about our upcoming trip in a fun way so we started by giving him letters at the end of each good day to spell out the word D-I-S-N-E-Y. We waited until Daddy returned home this morning to give him the final letter, capital D. I didn't expect it to take him long was he received the capital D. Given these letters in random order, he had to try and put them together to spell a word. His first attempt was Desniy. So close. We helped him switch the vowels around and he started sounding it out. Within minutes, he had it. The second picture shows the moment he figured it out. He's still pointing to the pictures after sounding it out and smiling at Daddy to see if he's right. It was awesome!!! He sat back grinning ear to ear and the questions started flowing.

He and Gracyn also received a letter from Mickey Mouse himself welcoming them back. (Hee Hee)

Hook, Line and Sinker. His comment,
"I bet Mickey used one of his markers from the clubhouse to write the letter." Yep, bet so!!!

Gracyn's just going along with everything although she really has no clue what's coming!

Our new Disney countdown chain. Each day C can cut a link off the chain. It's hanging on the curtain rod where we can check on it daily. I closed the curtain thinking it would help see the chain in the picture but I'm not sure it helped.

Our Little Artist

In all of Crosby's five years, I've cleaned crayon markings off the wall ONE time. In Gracyn's short life of 22 months, I couldn't begin to count the number of times she's colored/painted something inappropriate that required the fabulous magic eraser. By the way, the magic erasers are wonderful for cleaning pen/crayon/marker/paint markings off of walls, floors, toys and such.

Fite Family Olympics

So, Kelby and I really enjoy watching the Olympics. Perhaps a little too much. Whereas we normally don't watch much TV with the kids, we splurged and watched a lot of the olympic events. One day I saw Crosby running and trying to jump over one of our chairs. I watched him for a while and realized he was trying to jump hurdles just like we'd watched the night before. I asked him about it and next thing I knew, we were planning our very own Fite Family Olympics. Crosby made banners with our names on them and begged to go and display them at the end of Squirrel Lane so that all our neighbors could come and watch. HA!! Seriously, he was distraught when I informed him that it wouldn't be happening quite like that. So, anyway, minus the crowds and elaborate celebrations, we conducted our very own Olympic events.

See the medals hanging to the left??

Our opening ceremony...everyone was supposed to find their own flag (eh, something) to proudly hold as we marched around. I carried a broom...quite appropriate, I'd say. No, I'm not a witch, I just feel like I clean house a lot.

And the winners are....well, let me first explain.  I purposely didn't want C to win. I mean, if he won, great, but I'm not interested in just letting him win. K and I even discussed this prior to all events. Well, joke's on us. He's a fast lil' booger. Notice in the picture, he's holding his GOLD medal up close to his face. Yep, he may or may not have seen a few Olympians do that.
Gold to Crosby, Silver to Kelby and Bronze to me.

Carowinds

Check out his shirt. It stretched beyond recognition and then back again.

Gracyn loves the rockets.

Georgia

 Crosby just loves Madalyn.

Gracyn loves Maddie, too. Look at her sweet little face all excited.

the kids with Avery and Nanny

These three kids covered every inch of Nanny's little room. Even played in her bed for a while.
